On 24 December, beneath the lights of the Christmas tree, a little wooden toy – a nutcracker soldier – bravely faces the Mouse King in a great battle to protect what he loves most: the Kingdom of Sweets. After defeating him, the Sugar Fairy welcomes him with a dance to celebrate the victory with a grand party.
Through this heroic deed, the humble soldier becomes, for ever, the guardian of Christmas and protector of all homes. After all, there are some things even the King of the Mice cannot steal, such as a child’s wonder, a shared dance… and, of course, the magic of Christmas.
